THIS HEATER REPLACES THE BOSCH MODEL 125 HX Robert Bosch, Inc., developed the 1600H patented hydro-generated ignition system that requires no standing pilot, electricity, or batteries. The Aquastar 1600H is the first tankless natural gas water heater to use this technology for pilot ignition. Hydro-generated ignition works much like the giant turbines in a hydroelectric dam using the flow of water to generate electricity. When a hot water tap is opened, cold water flows through the 1600H's hydro generator. The flowing water spins a tiny turbine, which, in turn, instantly produces electricity. This electricity creates the spark required to light the burners and the water is then heated as it passes through a copper heat exchanger. This hydro-generated technology produces multiple important benefits: Eliminates the need for any additional energy source. Only flowing water and gas are required Uses energy only when you call for hot water - 82% efficiency Eliminates worries about dead batteries and the need to constantly change batteries Simplifies installation dramatically by eliminating the need for an electrical connection 1600H | Endless hot water for 1 major application at a time | | | | | | | AquaStar Model 1600H Tankless Water Heaters Technical Information about model 1600H Series Water Heaters | | Specifications | | Model | 38B | 1600H | 125FX | 125B | 125BL | 125BS | | Energy Factor | .66 | .80 | .78 | .69 | .69 | .69 | | Efficiency | 80% | 82% | 80% | 82% | 82% | 82% | | BTU/input | 40,000 | 117,000 | 125,000 | 117,000 | 117,000 | 117,000 | | Minimum Flow Rate GPM | 0.6 | 0.5 | 0.5 | 0.5 | 1.8 | 0.5 | | @ 45° rise | 1.3 GPM | 4.0 GPM | 4.0 GPM | 4.0 GPM | 4.0 GPM | 4.0 GPM | | @ 55° rise | 1.0 GPM | 3.3 GPM | 3.3 GPM | 3.3 GPM | 3.3 GPM | 3.3 GPM | | @ 65° rise | 0.9 GPM | 2.8 GPM | 2.8 GPM | 2.8 GPM | 2.8 GPM | 2.8 GPM | | @ 75° rise | 0.8 GPM | 2.4 GPM | 2.4 GPM | 2.4 GPM | 2.4 GPM | 2.4 GPM | | @ 90° rise | 0.6 GPM | 2.0 GPM | 2.0 GPM | 2.0 GPM | 2.0 GPM | 2.0 GPM | | Flue Size | 4" | 5" | 4" | 5" | 5" | 5" | | Water Inlet | 1/2" NPT | 1/2" NPT | 1/2" NPT | 1/2" NPT | 1/2" NPT | 1/2" NPT | | Gas Inlet Connection | 1/2" NPT | 3/4" NPT | 1/2" NPT | 1/2" NPT | 1/2" NPT | 1/2" NPT | | Min.
